While Sims is away at San Diego Comic-Con, Euge and Matt Wilson soldier on to talk about dreams, robot detectives, an extended comics segment and Metal Gear Solid. Also, Sims does check in with voicemails, and general tomfoolery.

Hmm, weird. http://www.floridalookup.com/Bagel-Para-Cocoa-biz153945.htm
The doctor who treated Booth didn’t just get in trouble for treating him, but mainly for not telling anyone about it and generally facilitating his escape. Booth hid out in the woods for a while and was fatally shot while being apprehended. For bonus points, punch Booth while he’s reading the newspaper articles about how everyone hates him (he thought that everyone thought Lincoln was a tyrant and would be delighted).
What’s up with the hate on Cowboy Mouth? I didn’t know they were a “Bro” band at all- at least they aren’t up here (midwest)… we always get good crowds for CM… is it different in the south?
Although mentioning Ben Kweller the other week was pretty badass…
for sports video games you can’t go wrong with the classic tecmo super bowl!! i’ve never played any madden, or really any new games, but that shit still holds up for me.
@EAW —
I didn’t mean to disparage Cowboy Mouth like that. I was just trying to remember a band frat guys at my college were into and that was the first one that came to mind. There were probably better examples, but a lot of frat dudes at Wake Forest really did love Cowboy Mouth and Widespread Panic, among others.
Did my comment not go up?
What comment? I don’t see another pending comment waiting in our queue.
Oops, anyway, I meant to post this. Apparently because I tried to include links, it blocked my comment:
Not to slam Matt’s Copernicus Jones: Robot Detective idea, but it reminds me an awful lot of Penny Arcade’s Automata. (Google Penny Arcade + Automata. There are six strips in total.)
I’m not trying to discourage Matt from doing his own thing, but I think it’d be a great idea if he contacted the PA guys and tried to do an OGN featuring Automata. I’ve heard Gabe and Tycho have no interest in doing full comics, and I think you’d get a lot more exposure from something that’s PA branded.
The biggest downside would be it wouldn’t really be creator-owned, and you might not be able to use the actual name of Copernicus Jones. (You could make it the guy who invented/made the robots though.)
I’ve seen those Automata comics, and while it’s a similar idea (robots + noir), Copernicus Jones is going to have a different tone and be a little more ramshackle/comedic than the world they’ve created.
I anticipate some cries of rip-off when and if the thing ever gets off the ground. But I sincerely doubt Gabe and Tycho would let me play in their playground, and in terms of the feel of it CJ:RD is pretty different.
Thanks for the heads-up, though.
Ok, that makes sense- I appreciate the clarification. I was worried I might not be able to enjoy CM anymore since I don’t have a visor, an Xterra, or a shell necklace…
Awesome episode!
I once had to marathoned a MGS game for a friend too. MGS3 took me 4 hours to beat, skipping all cut scenes and getting the worst Fox ranking I’ve ever seen.
I realize this is extremely late; I’ve been behind on my War Rocket Ajax. However, as luck would have it, I DO happen to work in a wholesale bagel bakery in Seattle and I will get on trying this out. Though I feel like the cocoa powder probably needs to be added at the retail level. Still, brilliant, er, dream! I’d be happy to ship you out a batch if we get this to work.
Is that the pic of the Gauntlet I took for you, Euge?
I think it’s from a comics website, Chris.
