G4TV’s Blair Butler, writer of the upcoming MMA comic Heart from Image, sits down with us this week to talk about going from comics criticism to creation, how she got her job as the only comics critic on national television, why she likes MMA more than pro wrestling, and, as you might expect, this week’s DC comics! And a ton more! Plus, Chris and Matt answer a listener question about their favorite character concepts with lacking executions.

MMA Manga recommendation
– All-Rounder Meguru
– Teppu
[more or less realistic]
there is too many fighting manga to include
I’m always surprised by the lack of knowledge (expertise?) about foreign comics that most of my favorite comic-book bloggers show. Not only about manga but also (or especially) european authors and titles. Some dont even know Tintín!
It bothers me because it feels like part of that old stereotypical ‘USA = the world’.
Anyway, this is NOT me hatin’, just pointing it out and thinking that it would be really cool if you interviewed someone from ‘beyond’.
What about Gabriel Rodríguez? Or the brothers Bá and Moon? Not americans involved in mainly american comics, so it still appeals to your main audience? Hell, even some of those strange british guys!
Like always, great show.
Damn! If you can do bad ass kicks jumping off the side of the octagon like that, it’s only a matter of time before an MMA fighter pulls a Vega.
