First time I heard about Bill Finger was at a small panel at San Diego Comic Con 2002. The scheduled panel was canceled last minute/unannounced. To fill the slot, Arlen Schumer came up and did a spiel on the awesomeness of Curt Swan. He branched out at a certain point and talked about Bill Finger, and I remember him saying something like “If there is such a thing as divine justice, Bob Kane is currently roasting on a spit in hell.”
Not to “um, actually” Chris, but since he brought it up in the interview, if he’s interested in a well-sourced, well-written documentation on Star Wars that provides a lot of interesting highlights on who did what and who deserves more credit than George Lucas – and why a lot of the often media-touted “Star Wars was planned as it is from the beginning” is false” – go check out the articles on http://secrethistoryofstarwars.com/.
Very well worth reading – whether you still love or now vehemently hate the series 😀 (a position I admittedly remain torn between)
