Chris and Matt were at Heroes Con in Charlotte this weekend, and in the process they sat down with an impromptu studio audience of sorts to talk with Transformers vs. G.I. Joe co-writer and artist Tom Scioli about some of the weird comics trends of the past few decades, particularly movie adaptation comics. That and much more in our con special!

I was going to put Nth Man on my ESE list – glad now I did not as it would have gotten bumped. Seriously, though, it is a great series and probably the best thing Hama ever did (and I say this as someone who got into comics as a kid through his GI Joe). It’s on my short list of series from the 80s that I try to re-read every couple of years. You can definitely tell that the conclusion was truncated and compressed, but Hama did manage to turn the last couple of issues into a successful conclusion – just quicker than planned. Still good stuff. Great characters, great art, and more ninja action and Kirby tributes than you can shake a stick at. Shame it’s been so forgotten.
