After discussing his work on PunisherMAX pretty much every week it’s come out, we finally managed to snag an interview with Scalped, Wolverine and X-Men writer Jason Aaron on this week’s show! He even braved a deadly gas leak to talk with us about VHS cinema, crazy storytelling, characterizing the Punisher, his CBR column, collaborating with artists to create super-cool scenes, a hint about what Bullseye whispered in Frank’s ear and a ton more! Plus, we take on a hater who…well, um…has a point. Plus, we welcome Hundo Clubber Clayton Johnston to our third chair!
The Rundown
- You can find more of Jason’s thoughts (when he’s not addled by natural gas) on Twitter and his blog!
- As promised, here’s the car from Corvette Summer.
- The famous column in which Jason Aaron told Alan Moore to go fuck himself.

Uh, I don’t want to sound like a jerk here but…
Chris singing Guile’s Theme was THE GREATEST THING EVER. That is all.
I never noticed how much you guys “um” and “ah”. Probably because that’s how everybody else I’ve ever met talks too. We’re not robots Orion!
Oh! Just thought of a Batman/Ric Flair similarity. Spectacular entrances. Ric Flair with his robed entrance to “Also sprach Zarathustra” and usually fireworks. Batman with his penchant for smashing through skylights or arriving in one of his bat-vehicles.
However – I highly doubt if Batman was a wrestler that he’d climb up the turnbuckle and get tossed back to the mat every friggin’ match for 30 years. That move doesn’t work Ric!!
Batman’s most effective move is the horizontal chop to the chest/throat.
If it’s good enough to beat Harley Race for the NWA World Title at Starrcade ’83, it’s good enough to try in every match since then, dammit! Wooooooooooo!
Chris proves that everything does indeed go with Guile’s Theme.
Damn. Can’t believe I missed a chance to get a question answered by Jason Aaron. I need to keep up.
Looking forward to next week’s comics alliance round up!
Oh yeah, Four Lions is great! Great recommendation Matt. I saw Four Lions last year and laughed my butt off. The end was really rough.
I can die happy after hearing Chris’ rendition of Guile’s theme.
Jason Aaron’s top 3 KC bbq places! I must know what they are.
