It’s an episode of firsts this week! Chris unveils a brand new segment, our guest, Evan “Funk” Davies, reveals the origin of his nickname and his methods for selecting music for his show on WFMU, and Matt reveals, for the first time ever, his plan to use Gandhi’s ghost to collect huge gambling winnings. Unfortunately, it’s also WRA’s first completely Euge-free show, but don’t hold that against us.
The Rundown
You can listen to Evan “Funk” Davies’ weekly show every Wednesday from 9 p.m. to midnight at WFMU.org. You can go back and listen to previous episodes right here. He’s on Twitter as @efd. Follow him!
F Minus is one of Evan’s favorite comic strips. You can follow cartoonist Tony Carrillo on Twitter at @tonycarrillo.
Chris is in Previews! You can also see the solicitation for his story in Skullkickers #6 on the Image Comics website.
Just who is War Rocket Ajax’s new co-host? Listen to the show and find out! He’s known Chris for a good long while, he’s been on the show before and his name is right up at the top of this post. Those are your clues.
Chris and his new host answer some listener questions, talk about Batman at length and explain why the changeover happened a little earlier than expected. We also call up Euge and talk to him via speakerphone to find out what he’s up to in the early stops of his comic shop tour.
Chris is recovered from his horrible plague, and Euge and Matt have emerged from the crowd at the DC Rally to Restore Sanity. We talk about all that, and comics and twitter questions. Time for a good ole’ fashioned Bro-down!
We had to cancel this week’s episode, due to Chris getting devastatingly sick, and then Euge having some out of town guests for the DC Rally this weekend. We’ll get our stuff together and be back next week with a vengeance!
Artists and friends-of-the-show Tom Fowler and Jen Vaughn stop by, as we dig through some listener questions and talk about…well, very weird stuff.
The Rundown
Thanks to our guests! To check out more of Tom Fowler’s stuff, check out his blog, or talk to him on twitter. And don’t forget this week, DEADPOOL TEAM-UP #888!!!
Creator of the awesome pro-wrestling graphic novel series Super Pro KO, Jarrett Williams, stops by to talk about…well, wrestling. A lot of wrestling. Chris and Euge also recap their NYCC experiences. Lives are changed.
The Rundown
Thanks to EVERYONE WHO CAME AND SAW CHRIS AND EUGE AT NYCC! Too many to thank individually, but you guys made our NYCC experience awesome!
Thanks again to Jarrett Williams, who quite frankly, will have to come back on the show to talk about video games, comics, and hip hop…since we talked so much about wrestling this time around. Check out his website, and go get Super Pro KO! And check out Jarrett on twitter.
Check out the ComicsAlliance panel, in all its wonderful glory. Make sure you check out all of CA’s NYCC coverage too!
Before writing GI Joe comics, Brandon Jerwa had some interesting jobs. He comes on Ajax to talk to us about them, among other things. And now you know. And knowing is…like, some part of the battle or something.
The Rundown
Thanks again to our guest, Brandon Jerwa! Check out his site, talk to him on twitter, and buy his stuff.
Writer and artist Phil Hester talks about art vs. writing, Green Arrow, The Wretch and con memories with Chris. Euge is back from SPX and ready for action. And a very, very special haters segment.
The Rundown
Thanks to our guest Phil Hester. Talk to him on twitter, and check out his works.
If you want to find out more info about SPX, check out the site; also read Brian Heater’s fantastic recap at the Daily Cross Hatch (I’m mentioned there!)
